At the finish

Our trip was as good as it could be. We had a slight holdup in Cripple when the Iditarod organization grabbed the gas that we had a pilot drop for us. They put it on their barrels and said no gas for you...Unfortunately we were still 90 miles from our next potential shelter and running on empty. It got straightened out but delayed us about 3 hours so we got some more night riding.

That actually led to meeting the Italian Ididiots.... Two guys on mountain bikes who had ridden through the Cripple checkpoint without noticing it...and that was where they had had their food sent. They hadn't eaten for two days. We gave them schnapps and what food we had. They ate a frozen ham and cheese sandwich in about two bites.

Start to finish...It was a little harder than I thought.

Sam Maxwell resting at the first checkpoint...per Joe, the least "full of shit" guy I have met.

Hi, perhaps you'd like to have dinner tonight?

My cousin Jimmy... He lives in Ruby. Look him up next time you are there.

Rob and Linda... they put us up in their home in Galena and were very fun.

Coming into Nome...still blowing about 45 but beautiful.
